THEM'S THE RULES

We want everybody who comes to stay at Sugar Park to have a fantastic, relaxing, and safe holiday.  Like all campsites, however, we do have a few rules that we'd like everybody to adhere to, for the benefit of all our guests.  We really appreciate your observance of these rules and hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Things don’t always go quite according to plan, however, so it goes without saying that if there is a problem or dissatisfaction with any matters under our control, please notify us immediately, so we may have the opportunity to rectify the situation for all concerned.

Reservations:

  • A maximum of six (6) people can occupy a single pitch at any one time, and this must include at least one adult (16+ years of age).

  • Pitches are limited to a single vehicle (please note that we do not have additional on site parking)

  • Arrivals - Pitches will be available from 2pm on the day of your booking; we advise not to arrive early as your pitch may not be ready. Please do try to let us know if you think you may be significantly delayed.

  • Departures – Please be sure to vacate your pitch by midday (12pm) on the final day of your stay to allow time for us to clear and reserve the pitch for the next guest.

  • All of the pitches are well sized (~8m x 8m) so please do try to allow for some space between you and your neighbour(s).

  • We reserve the right to remove and dispose of any property left on the campsite where the pitch has not been paid for in advance, has been left behind after vacating site, or where the guest has been asked to vacate the pitch.

Cancellations:

  • Please let us know as soon as possible should you need to cancel your reservation for any reason

  • For cancellations made within 48 hours prior to the arrival due date, the balance of the payment will be due in full.

  • All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Payments:

  • Standard pitch prices are per pitch on a nightly basis for up to four (4) people and a single car

  • Up to four guests sharing are included in the daily pitch fee; additional adults will be charged at £2 per person, per night; additional children (under 16 years) stay for free up to a maximum of six (6) total occupants.

  • A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost of your booking is payable at the point of making the booking, with the balance payable at least 5 days before the first day of your stay (please note that where the balance has not been settled within 5 days we may release your reservation). This does not apply to single-night reservations (see below).

  • We require payment in full at the point of booking for single night reservations and this is non-refundable upon cancellation at any time.

  • All payments should be made digitally, where possible, via our web site booking system. Where a deposit has been paid online, please pay the balance online also.

Block Bookings/Events:

We do occasionally accept block (i.e. whole or partial) campsite bookings for short periods of time for private events or group camping. A 20% deposit will be required on any block booking, payable in advance, with the balance to be settled at least one week (7 days) before the day of arrival. We also maintain the following rules with respect to any block booking.

  • We do not offer seasonal pitches at Sugar Park Campsite.

  • Block booking enquiries should be made to us directly via the form on our contact page.

  • Block booking requests can only be made for specific times in the year; we will not accept block bookings from being made over the Easter holiday period (dates vary), or between 21st July and 31st August. We will review requests for bookings outside of the usual camping season window (so November thru March), but these will be entirely weather dependent. Also see next rule :-)

  • Block booking requests are entirely at the discretion of Sugar Park and we reserve the right to decline any request.

  • The booking is for private use only and will not be used for any events marketed to the general public and/or where tickets are being sold (charity fund raising events are an exception, please speak to us about this if this is the case)

  • No alcohol is to be sold on the premises at any time

  • Any and all music is kept to a reasonable volume; there is a village nearby and the noise does carry down the valley (we’re sure your music is awesome but tastes vary!)

  • No amplified live music at any time (acoustic guitars etc. are fine)

  • Please refrain from using the decking area without our explicit permission to do so

  • No large bonfires or similar are permitted – fire pits are ok if raised off the ground (to protect the grass) – please ensure that all coals are 100% extinguished before disposal

  • All fire pit, BBQs and similar health and safety hazards are monitored at all times

  • No drugs or illicit substances are used on the premises at any time

  • All excess rubbish is removed from site – this includes broken furniture, BBQs, tents etc. (our bins can accommodate normal camping guest refuse but events do tend to generate more rubbish than usual!)

  • If you require any gazebos, BBQs or additional tents or camping equipment, these can be rented from us for the period of your booking (please enquire with us for further details - notice may be required)

Campsite Etiquette:

  • Please treat other guests and staff with the courtesy and consideration that you might expect in return, and please be mindful that we have a broad range of visitors with varying expectations of what may be considered appropriate

  • Please supervise your children, ensure they are kept safe, and are not unduly disturbing other guests

  • We are a family friendly campsite, and as such like to keep all noise to a minimum after 10pm. We’d appreciate it if music could be kept at low volume after 9pm.

  • Please ensure that all music and social activity is kept at low volume after this time for the benefit of all guests and local residents.

  • In the interests of all visitors, we reserve the right to refuse access to any pitch to any person or groups of persons at our discretion. In such cases, all site fees paid will be refunded in full but that will be the extent of our liability.

  • Any group or person who, in the opinion of the proprietors causes undue disturbances, or fails to keep dogs under control, will be asked to leave. Refunds will not be given under these circumstances.

  • Cutting or damaging trees and other vegetation is strictly prohibited and the natural conditions are not to be disturbed.

Health and safety:

  • The site owners will not accept liability for any personal injury or damage to property howsoever caused or sustained

  • When driving on the site, please stay under 5 mph at all times and keep careful observation of other guests, tent guide-ropes etc.

  • All drivers on site must be fully insured and vehicles taxed and with an up to date MOT

  • The use of generators is strictly prohibited on site unless via explicit permission

Toilets:

  • Sugar Park is a clean and friendly camp site. Please do clean up after yourselves and try to leave the toilets and cleaning facilities in a manner that you would wish to find them in yourself.

  • Young children (under 12) must be supervised by an adult in the toilet block at all times.

  • Please note that smoking is not permitted in the toilet block.

Fires and barbecues:

  • Open fires are not allowed on the site at any location.

  • Fire pits and barbecues are allowed, so long as they are raised up from the ground (to avoid grass damage), kept under control at all times, and ashes are disposed of safely.

  • Please use the cinder blocks provided (kept near the toilet block) to raise your barbecue or fir pit off the ground; please return the block after use.

  • Please never take a barbecue or fire of any kind into your or any other tent (or similar)

  • Please DO NOT place any fire pit or barbecue coals in the hedgerows as this presents the risk of fire (it has happened!). Instead, please allow for coals to cool and dispose of ashes in the facilities provided (metal bin near toilet block).

  • Please take all disposable barbecues home with you after use – we are unable to dispose of these with the rest of the rubbish or recycling as they present a health and safety risk to staff

Rubbish and recycling:

  • Please place your rubbish in the bins provided and ensure that the recycling bins are used accordingly.

  • Please do not mix general waste with recycling materials as we have to sort this out by hand!

  • Please remove bulky waste (e.g. broken tents, fires, barbecues) from the site yourselves (note that we have to pay to dispose of these if left behind!)

  • Please take all disposable BBQs home with you after use – we are unable to dispose of these with the rest of the rubbish or recycling as they present a health and safety risk to staff

  • Please ensure that all glass bottles, jars etc. are placed safely in the glass collection facility provided

Security on site:

  • Please note that Sugar Park is not manned by staff on a permanent basis, is not gated or secured at any time when the site is open for business.

  • As such, we please ask that you take personal responsibility to secure your tents, campervans, or motorhomes securely.

  • The owners of Sugar Park campsite accept no liability for any loss or damage to personal property or vehicles during your stay on our site.

  • Drones and similar flying or radio-controlled devices are not allowed to be operated anywhere on the site

Pets:

  • Dogs are allowed on site but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.

  • Please clean up after your dog; dog waste should be bagged, sealed and placed in the rubbish bins (general rubbish) provided

  • We reserve the right to request that a guest remove their dog from site if it is clearly a nuisance or danger to other guests or staff

Beach access:

  • Please do not walk down through the adjacent fields to the beach or to the lea as these fields are populated by livestock (and often bulls!). Instead, please walk down the road to the beach and along the beachfront where you will find a public footpath that leads up to the lea and the bird hide.
